Maroon, the yellow of the sun and palm leaves on the new shirts of West Indies Cricket

Following the announcement of the partnership between Macron and Cricket West Indies, the West Indies Men’s ODI and T20I teams have been the first to wear their new kits since the historic West Indies vs England Series started on 3rd December.

The famous maroon and yellow colours that represent one of the most exciting and feared sides in world cricket, are featured with an all new Caribbean palm design that is clearly depicted on the new team shirts. The West Indies is a unique and world-renowned team representing the 15 English-speaking nations. The new Macron team shirts convey a clear message of sustainability and respect for the environment that is so important for a region with its unspoilt tropical and marine nature. The kits are made from Eco Fabric, a polyester material 100% derived from recycled plastic.

The new ODI game set features a crew neck shirt in maroon, with sleeve cuffs and details on the sides and bottom in yellow. The inside neck label features the colours and logo of West Indies Cricket along with the Macron logo and the words ‘Designed in Bologna’, certifying that the garment is conceived, designed and produced at Macron's HQ in Valsamoggia. The front of the shirt boasts a tone on tone graphic representing palm leaves, one of the icons of the West Indies. The Macron Hero appears in yellow on the right and the badge of the Windies on the left of the chest.

The T20I shirt, on the other hand, has a Mandarin neck. The yellow of the Caribbean sun dominates the front but blends gradually into maroon on the back. The other colour found in the logo of West Indies Cricket, the blue of the Caribbean Sea, appears along with yellow on the sleeve cuffs. The inside neck label is customised in the same way as that of the ODI shirts. Palm leaves are the main feature of the tone on tone graphics of the front of the shirt, repeated in golden yellow contrasted with the maroon at the bottom. The Macron Hero is embroidered in maroon and accompanied by the badge of West Indies Cricket.

Both game set shirts are Slim Fit. The kits are made mainly from Eco-Softlock with Eco Mesh inserts for strength, lightweight, and breathability.

The entire collection of official West Indies Cricket teamwear, leisure wear and accessories will be available soon for purchase online from the dedicated West Indies section of the macron.com website.
