Macron is the new uniform partner of Connecticut United FC
A new agreement with a US professional sports team comes from the city in Connecticut where Macron opened its US headquarters last June: Bridgeport. The Macron Hero will be featured on the jerseys of Connecticut United FC (CT United FC), the first professional team in the Major League Soccer (MLS) ecosystem to wear the Italian sportswear brand, which will supply game sets and technical apparel from the professional team to the Academy. The garments will be available in CT United FC's online shop and at selected retail partners throughout Connecticut.
Founded in 2024, and owned by the Connecticut Sports Group, CT United is the fifth independent professional men's football club in MLS NEXT Pro and the first MLS NEXT Pro team in Connecticut. Launched in 2022 by Major League Soccer, MLS NEXT Pro is a professional men’s soccer league in the United States and Canada that completes the pro player pathway from MLS NEXT to MLS first teams. The club will debut in the league in 2026 and will play in a new stadium built on the Bridgeport waterfront.
The club and Macron’s shared commitments to youth & community, sports philosophy and the concern for the environment form the basis of our partnership. For Macron, this is also a critical growth step in the North American market, which is a crucial expansion target for a brand that represents Italian tradition and design by offering quality and technicality of absolute value.
“This partnership marks an important step in our journey to expand our presence in North America, an increasingly strategic market for the global expansion of the Macron brand", declared Gianluca Pavanello, CEO of Macron. "As an Italian brand known for style and performance, we take pride in sharing our sports expertise and supporting teams from grassroots to pro. We are convinced that CT United FC will become one of the most important clubs in North America and are proud to accompany the club's players, staff and fans on this journey with first-class apparel.”
"We are thrilled to partner with a clothing brand whose values are so close to our own,' said Michelle Swanston, co-owner of CT United FC. - 'Their commitment to quality and sustainability ensures that our players are equipped with garments that are both high performance and environmentally friendly. Macron has also supported our mission to make football accessible throughout Connecticut in the years to come."
