Macron is the new technical partner of Mjällby AIF
Macron has entered Sweden’s top football league, the Allsvenskan, with the announcement of a new technical partnership with Mjällby AIF, the club that represents the town of Hällevik. Starting 1st January 2025, the Italian brand will supply game kits, technical sportswear and a line of merchandise to all the club’s teams, from the first team to the youth sides, for a term of five seasons.
Mjällby AIF was formed on 1st April 1939 by the fusion of two clubs, Listers IF and Hälleviks IF. The club was largely the creation of Axel Bengtsson, who was convinced that Hällevik needed a more ambitious team and a larger stadium. Bengtsson himself sold the club the land on which the Strandvallen stadium was later constructed, and where the Black and Yellows still play today. For his part in the transaction, Bengtsson was granted free entry to the ground for home matches for the rest of his life. The ambitious project proved a success over the years, and Mjällby won promotion to the country’s top league in the late 1970s. The club has achieved some truly impressive results in recent seasons, and even reached the finals of the 2022-23 Swedish Cup.
“Taking the Macron Hero to a new championship in Europe always gives us a great sense of satisfaction as it confirms that we are heading in the right direction,” stated Gianluca Pavanello, CEO of Macron. “Mjällby AIF is a club with great ambitions and this is a real stimulus in any long-term collaboration. The club’s history, its ties to the local area and the community it represents are all sources of inspiration for developing new collections in coming years and for expressing the team’s identity and the attachment of supporters to the club’s colours. I’m sure we’ll be able to design unique kits that can be worn with pride.”
“We are delighted and extremely satisfied with this new partnership with Macron, one of the top names in the sports sector. The fact that Macron is willing to make such an investment along with Mjällby AIF shows that our club has made giant steps in building its brand. We see this important agreement as a means to take our club on to even greater things,” declared Daniel Hjalmarsson, Mjällby AIF’s commercial director, who then added “with Macron we finally have a partner who can give us top-quality teamwear that will help us in our activities here at Strandvallen and give our merchandising a boost too. Macron’s great flexibility will allow us to design unique game sets and achieve our aim of having the most attractive kits in the Allsvenskan.”
