New kit nods to the 25 year anniversary of the opening of Wanderers’ stadium

Bolton Wanderers has unveiled its new home kit for the 2022/23 season.

The brand new kit – designed by Macron and featuring the logo of the new principal partner, Service My Car – pays homage to the home of the Wanderers. With the 2022/23 season marking 25 years since the club moved to its home in Horwich from Burnden Park, a silhouette of Bolton’s iconic stadium and the dates ‘1997 – 2022’ are embossed proudly onto the reverse of the shirt.

Presenting a retro-style, striped round neck, the same white, blue and red lines don the sleeves, and vertical embossed lines subtly encase a repeated motif of the BWFC crest across the front of the shirt. Bolton’s famous elephant and castle remain on the nape of the neck, as does the town’s motto ‘Supera Moras’.

The shorts are Wanderers’ classic navy and feature the Macron logo and BWFC crest, while the white socks complement the shirt, with the same white, blue and red stripes displayed on the turnovers.

Head of Retail Paul Stanworth said: “This is a real milestone season for Bolton Wanderers as we celebrate the 25th anniversary of the club’s move from Burnden Park to its home here in Horwich.

“We wanted to make sure the shirt played a part in marking that moment. It was a fascinating time for the Wanderers back in 1997, and there’s a similar feeling at the club right now. We hope fans enjoy this special anniversary shirt – we can’t wait to see many Wanderers wearing it in the coming weeks!”.

To support the shirt launch, the home kit reveals video features star players, including club captain Ricardo Almeida Santos, Amadou Bakayoko, Kyle Dempsey, Kieran Sadlier, Josh Sheehan and Gethin Jones. On-site at the University of Bolton Stadium, the video weaves the stadium’s iconic surroundings into its narrative.

In a move to again recognise and pay respect to the past - as the club marks a milestone season - the pace and energy of the video aim to reflect the flair, passion and ambition of the Wanderers players who currently wear the badge.
