The fruit of supporters’ creativity: Karlsruher SC reveal their new Third shirt

Only a few days after presenting a new ‘Home’ shirt, Karlsruher SC has also revealed the new ‘Third’ shirt that the players of the German team will wear for the coming season in 2.Bundesliga. The unique and exclusive new shirt is the result of the club’s close collaboration with Macron, their technical partner since 2019.

The graphics of Karlsruher SC’s new ‘Third’ shirt are the result of a competition open to supporters of the team, which attracted over 300 entries. A jury made up of KSC players and Macron staff members selected the three best designs for re-submission to fans for a vote on the final version. In the chosen design, innovative styling and graphics go hand in hand with a message of sustainability, a value shared by KSC and Macron. The new kit is made from Eco Fabric, the material derived entirely from recycled plastic that Macron uses to make match kits for all its clubs.

KSC’s new ‘Third’ shirt for 2023-24 comes in black and has a yellow knitted V neck with a thin red line. The same combination of colours appears on the sleeve cuffs and at the bottom of the shirt. The colours of black, yellow and red are those of Baden, the German region the club represents. The front of the shirt is embellished with dye-sub printed graphics representing a road map of Karlsruhe in red and yellow dashes. The inside neck label is customised with the colours and logo of the club, the motto ‘EIN STÜCK HEIMAT’ (part of home), the Macron logo and the words ‘Designed in Bologna’,  certifying that the garment is conceived, designed and produced at Macron’s Bologna headquarters. The Macron Hero is embroidered in white on the right of the chest and the Karlsruher SC badge on the left. The words ‘MEINE HEIMAT’ (my home) appear in white at the back of the neck.

The ‘Third’ match kit is completed by black shorts with white drawstrings and a yellow band with red details at the leg bottoms. The socks are also black and have a yellow band at the top with a red stripe in the middle. The same colours form an inverted triangle on the calf. The Slim Fit shirt is made mainly from Eco Softlock with an Eco Micromesh panel in the back and Eco Mesh inserts for reduced weight and excellent breathability.

Like Karlsruher SC’s other kits, the new ‘Third’ shirt will be soon available from the section of the macron.com website dedicated to the club.
