MACRON TO OUTFIT AUSTRALIAN TEAM AT THE BIRMINGHAM 2022 COMMONWEALTH GAMES
The Australian team which will take part at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games will wear Macron.
The Italian brand becomes the first Official Partner of the 2022 Australian Commonwealth Games Team for Official Competition and Training Wear. A prestigious agreement that allows Macron to further consolidate its presence in the Australian market. The Macron Hero is already present on the shirts of the football clubs Perth Glory FC and Adelaide United and on those of the Parramatta Eels, team of the Australian Rugby League.
The partnership includes the supply of match kits, training and leisurewear and accessories. A wide and diversified range that includes sport specific uniform components with everything from track and field shorts, tights, singlets and bodysuits to home and away versions of the hockey and netball (sport that is very popular in Australia especially among women and similar to basketball) competition outfits. The agreement also includes the supply travel wear, training attire and accessories such as sports bags.
The staff of Commonwealth Games Australia and the Macron style office are working to develop the entire collection to be unveiled in 2022.
Commonwealth Games Australia CEO Craig Phillips AM said he was thrilled an international sportwear brand such as Macron had joined the Commonwealth Games Australia partnership program for Birmingham.
Macron will also provide Team Australia with clothing made from Eco-Fabric, 100% recycled plastic and certified by the Global Recycled Standard. A choice that is part of "Macron 4 the Planet", the project that summarizes the commitment of the Italian company for greater environmental sustainability. A responsible choice that means developing practices aimed at using renewable energy, recycling and regenerating materials, avoiding waste and setting production processes to the criterion of sustainability.
Australia will be present at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games with almost 400 athletes in 21 sports for 136 events that can bring medals for female athletes, 134 for men and 13 events where mixed teams are participating. For the first time there will be more medals available for women than for men. The Commonwealth Games feature eight sports in which para-athletes participate.
