Macron is the new technical partner of Historic Scottish Club St. Mirren
Macron’s presence within the Scottish Premiership is still growing, with St. Mirren Football Club choosing us as their new technical partner. The historic Scottish club, which boasts 146 years of history, has just signed a multi-year agreement that will come into force next season. The new partnership covers the supply of match day kits and technical team wear for the Paisley based club's first team, women’s team, and Academy youth team.
St. Mirren FC was founded in 1877 by a group of sports enthusiasts who, as was often the case with British clubs, also played rugby and cricket. The club was one of the founders of the Scottish football championship and is one of the five clubs still active in it. The others are Celtic, Rangers, Hearts, and Dumbarton. St. Mirren FC has won 3 Scottish Cups, 1 Scottish League Cup and 1 Anglo-Scottish Cup. The ‘Buddies’ or the ‘Saints’ as the club and its supporters are known, play at St. Mirren Park, having left the older Love Street stadium in 2009. The new stadium is officially named after the supporters’ association, SMISA (St. Mirren Independent Supporters Association), which has held a majority shareholding in the club since 2021.
St. Mirren FC will soon be receiving new match kits, with Pitch Teamwear in charge of the Retail operations. In keeping with Macron’s philosophy, the new technical garments will be unique and exclusive, and they will respect the club’s history and traditions along with those of Paisley, the sixth largest town in Scotland.
“We are delighted to enter a partnership with a club like St. Mirren that represents the long history of Scottish football,” declares Andrea Palilla, Country Manager for Macron. “We shall be drawing on its glorious past to design a team wear collection that conveys a real sense of belonging to the club’s colours and traditions, not only to the players, but to the supporters too.”
“We are delighted to be entering this exciting new multi-year agreement with Macron” said Keith Lasley, St Mirren Chief Operating Officer. “Macron is a strong brand within the professional football market with a vast array of clubs in their portfolio. We are looking forward to a fruitful partnership and are excited to present our new strips for 2023/24 in the coming weeks.”
