Awareness on climate change promoted by the new Euro Game Kit designed by Macron for the Ospreys

The Ospreys have revealed the new Euro game kit that players will wear for matches in this season’s EPCR Challenge Cup, which for the Swansea XV will start on 8th December with the match against the Emirates Lions at Liberty Stadium. Like the Home and Away versions presented this summer, the new jersey is visually striking. It also conveys a double message, in its graphics and in the choice of material, in support of the fight against climate change and in favour of sustainability and respect for the environment. Macron produced the entire kit using Eco Fabric, a polyester material derived entirely from recycled, post-consumer plastic.

The Ospreys’ new Euro game kit has a polo neck with two-button closure and comes in two shades of blue, darker on the shoulders, sides and back, and lighter on the centre front and sleeve cuffs. The entire shirt is decorated with geometric graphics that represent ice in colour and pattern to raise awareness about the melting of glaciers as a result of climate change. The two colours, however, have another interpretation too: environmental issues aside, they also refer to the team’s iconic logo.

The custom inside label has a background replicating the Home shirt’s graphics. The label carries the club’s logo and the word ‘OSPREYS’, the Macron logo and the words ‘Designed in Bologna’, certifying that the garment is conceived, designed and developed at the Macron Campus. The Macron Hero is embroidered in white on the right chest, while the Ospreys logo, again in white, appears on the left. Printed in white behind the neck are the club’s famous logo and the letters’ OITC’, standing for ‘OSPREYS IN THE COMMUNITY’, a non-profit foundation that works with the club and runs activities in support of the community.

Another distinctive detail that confirms the green philosophy shared by the club and technical sponsor is the tape that runs around the inside of the shirt bottom bearing the words’ THIS JERSEY IS MADE FROM 13 RECYCLED BOTTLES’, interspersed with the Ospreys’ logo. The shorts have white drawstrings and repeat the graphics of the shirt and the two shades of blue, with the lighter shade on the sides and insides. The socks are in blue, too, with a light blue band around the middle. The Macron Hero and the club logo appear in white, on the front just above the ankle and on the calf, respectively.

The Slim Fit shirts are made mainly from Eco Armevo with Eco Bodytexand Eco Strong Mesh inserts for greater strength and performance as well as reduced weight and improved breathability. The new Euro game kit, along with all other shirts and items of teamwear produced for supporters of the Ospreys, can be purchased from the Swansea.com Stadium store, the Ospreys store in the Quadrant shopping centre, the Macron Sports Hub on Carmarthen Road in Cwmbwrla, Swansea, and, of course from the section of the macron.com website dedicated to the club.
