ASM Clermont Auvergne and Macron announce renewal with a new Home jersey dedicated to the Yellow Army
The partnership between ASM Clermont Auvergne and Macron will reach a double-figure duration. The rugby union club from Clermont-Ferrand, which plays in France’s top league, the Top 14, has renewed its technical partnership agreement until 2030. This adventure first began in 2020, meaning that with this renewal, it will reach a minimum length of ten years.
This partnership renewal was accompanied by a special surprise for the fans at the Stade Michelin. On the occasion of the last game of the championship, the players of ASM Clermont Auvergne took to the field wearing the new "home" shirts for the 2023-24 season. An original and innovative launch to unveil the new kit dedicated to the 'Yellow Army', a nickname earned by the French club's famous and passionate fans. Predominantly yellow, with a blue crew neck and sleeve edging, the new home shirt pays tribute to the ASM Clermont Auvergne fans and the Interclub supporters' groups, the club's pride both at the Stade Michelin and away.
Every detail recalls the close bond between the club and its fans. On the front of the jersey, tone on tone and both negative and positive, the words 'YELLOW ARMY' and a drawing of the fans alternate. In sublimated print, on the sides is the list of groups that make up and animate the club's supporters' Interclub, the true heart of the 'yellow army'. Finally, embossed on the back of the jersey, there is a symbol of the club's sense of belonging to its territory: the historic crest of the Auvergne region.
The ASM Clermont Auvergne Home kit is made from Eco Fabrics, a 100% polyester fabric made from recycled plastic. In fact, each jersey is made from the recycling of around 13 0.5-litre bottles, a strong message of sustainability and respect for the environment, confirming the green philosophy shared by the club and technical sponsor.
The strong relationship between Macron and ASM Cermont Auvergne has already led to the production of teamwear collections with modern, innovative designs. ASM Clermont Auvergne is one the top clubs in French rugby and has a long list of trophies to its name: 2 Top 14 championship titles, 1 French Cup and 3 European Challenge Cups – a record the club shares with the English Harlequins.
“We are delighted to continue our journey alongside such a historic and successful club as ASM Clermont Auvergne,” explains Gianluca Pavanello, Macron’s CEO. “10 years of partnership means that our relationship goes far beyond the supply of teamwear alone. There is a bond of respect and trust that enriches both Macron and the club. Every season we spend together allows us to support the team’s performance on the pitch with top-quality, high-tech kits with exclusive graphics and designs that relate the story of the club and convey a sense of identity and belonging.”
“By extending our partnership until 2030, the collaboration with Macron will become the longest with an equipment manufacturer in the history of our club,” said Aurélien Rougerie, Team Manager of ASM Clermont Auvergne. “This expresses both the quality and high performance of the products that are offered to our club and that we develop in collaboration with Macron, but also the trust and willingness to move forward together that binds the two entities. We are very happy and proud to entrust our colours to the creativity of the Italian brand's teams, whose growth in the rugby landscape and in sport in general is a just reward for their work and commitment. Until 2030, ASM will be ‘Giallo e Blu’”.
