FAQs About Padel Equipment and Apparel

1. What padel clothing do I need?

For casual play, there is no strict dress code. Comfortable sportswear, such as tennis, badminton, or general fitness clothing, is perfectly suitable. Technical, moisture-wicking fabrics are recommended because they manage heat and sweat better than cotton.

Standard padel clothing includes:

  • shorts, joggers, or sports tights you can move freely in
  • a breathable T-shirt
  • a hoodie or sweatshirt for warm-ups or cooler weather
  • supportive underwear (sports bras for women, compression or performance underwear for men)

2. What padel equipment do I need?

You only need a padel racket, padel balls, and appropriate footwear to start playing. While any comfortable sportswear works, footwear is important.

Padel shoes provide the grip and lateral support (for side-to-side movement) needed on sand-based courts. Running shoes are not recommended.

Optional accessories include racket bags, wristbands, grips, and water bottles.

3. How to dress when playing padel?

Dress in light, breathable activewear that allows full movement. In warm weather, shorts and a T-shirt are usually enough. In cooler or changeable conditions, layer up with sports tights, joggers, hoodies, or sweatshirts to manage temperature before, during, and after play.
