The power of lightning on the shirts of Aalborg BK

Aalborg BK, the club that represents the northernmost of Denmark’s four largest cities, has just presented the new official kits that ‘the Reds’ will wear next season. The shirts feature innovative, high-impact graphics and also confirm the commitment of both club and technical partner to the cause of environmental protection, being made from Eco Fabric, a polyester material derived entirely from recycled plastic and certified according to the Global Recycled Standard.

The new ‘Home’ shirt has a knitted Mandarin neck with a thin red line. The sleeve cuffs are finished in the same way. The shirt maintains the club’s traditional colours of alternating red and white stripes, but these are dye-sub printed on the front, back and sleeves in the form of lightning bolts to honour the supporters of the club and give an impression of dynamism. The lightning bolt motif also appears on the custom inside label along with the words ‘SOM RAMFT AF LYNET HVER GANG MIT AaB SPILLER’, taken from the song the team’s supporters sing when the players walk out on to the pitch. The label also features the Macron logo and the words ‘Designed in Bologna’ certifying that the garment is conceived, designed and produced at Macron's Bologna Headquarters. The Macron Hero appears in black on the right of the chest and the Aalborg BK badge on the left ‘1885’, the year the club was formed, is printed in red at the back of the neck. The shorts are white with red stripes at the sides. The socks are red with two white lightning bolt motifs just below cuff level.

The ‘Away’ shirt again features a Mandarin neck but this time is in navy blue with a tone on tone dye-sub pattern of lightning bolt motifs, horizontal versions of which also appear in red and white at chest level, just below the printed Macron Hero logo and Aalborg BK badge. The inside label is customised in the same way as that of the ‘Home’ shirt, with a white lightning bolt and the words of the supporters’ song. The date of formation of the club, 1885, appears in white at the back of the neck. The shorts are in navy blue with a white drawstring and red stripes down the sides. The socks are in navy blue with red and white lightning bolts motifs just below the cuffs. 

Both shirt variants are Slim Fit garments. The shirts are made from Eco-Softlock fabric with Eco-Mesh inserts, making them lightweight and fully breathable.
