Macron is the new technical partner of the Nigerien Football Federation
African football is wearing Macron more than ever. The Macron Hero logo will appear on the national team shirts of the Nigerien Football Federation for at least the next two seasons. Under a new partnership agreement, Macron will provide technical garments and match wear for the senior and youth teams. The top-quality garments will feature graphics that convey and promote the colours, symbols and history of the national squad.
The Nigerien Football Federation has only recently celebrated its 60th anniversary. The Federation was formed in 1961, and later joined CAF (Confederation of African Football) and FIFA. Niger’s national team played in two editions of the African Cup of Nations, in 2012 and 2013. The team’s players are nicknamed the ‘Ménas’ – the word for the Dama gazelle in the Hausa language. The Dama gazelle is typical of this part of Africa: i has been adopted as a national symbol in Niger and appears on the badge of the Football Federation.
The national team colours are orange and green, like those of Niger’s flag. Orange symbolises the sands of the Sahara desert and green its oases – and hope. These national symbols are sure to find a place on the new shirts that Macron will be supplying to the teams of FENIFOOT, as the Federation is known.
“We are delighted to welcome the Nigerien Football Federation and their teams into the great Macron family. The arrival of this footballing nation will help us expand our market in Africa,” Francesco Ventura, Area Manager of Macron states. “In this latest project in support of a Federation that is determined to grow technically, we shall be supplying team wear that simply cannot be beaten either technically or in terms of design,” adds Silvio Martinuzzi, Area Manager of Macron.
