Macron and FK Željezničar to stay together until 2029

Macron and FK Željezničar have announced the extension of their partnership until 2029. The Macron Hero will remain for six more years on the shirts of FK Željezničar, the top Bosnian club that plays in the Premijer Liga and that, thanks to an excellent performance in this year’s championship, has won a place in the qualifying round of the UEFA Europa Conference League.

The partnership began in the summer of 2020 and has proved so successful that it has been renewed for another six years. Three years of close collaboration between the club and Macron have led to the design of match kits and teamwear collections that relate the story and symbols of the club, which has just celebrated its 100^th anniversary.

FK Željezničar was formed in 1921 by a group of railway workers (Željezničar actually means “railway worker”) and the colour of the club’s shirts was taken from the blue that historically identified the railways in central Europe. The ‘Plavi’ (Blues) are one of the most famous clubs in Bosnia Herzegovina today, Yugoslavia yesterday. The trophy cabinet of the Sarajevo Blues is full. Among the coveted prizes on display are a Yugoslavian championship (1971-1972), 6 Bosnian championships, 6 Bosnian Cups and 3 Bosnian Supercups. At European level, the club boasts an appearance in the semi-finals of the UEFA Cup in 1984-1985.

“We are proud to have renewed our agreement with a club that represents the history of football in Bosnia Herzegovina and Yugoslavia,” declared Francesco Ventura, Area Manager for Macron. “This renewal demonstrates the synergy, values and projects that we share with the club. There will be important new developments for the club’s supporters very soon. The new match kits for the coming season will be presented in late July or early August.”
