AEK BC presents new shirts for the Centenary season in the Championship and Basketball Champions League

For historic Greek basketball club AEK BC, the 2023-2024 season is of particular significance as it coincides with the club’s centenary celebrations. The club’s new game sets are the first produced by Macron, who have assumed the role of technical partner to AEK BC precisely this year, with an agreement spanning the next five. Along with a new logo dedicated to the centenary and the traditional symbol of the two-headed eagle, the new kits also express the history and identity of the club through its colours and stylish graphics.

The new kits for the championship (which AEK BC starts on 7 October with a home match against Lavrio BC) and for the Basketball Champions League (which the club begins with a ‘Macron derby’ against MHP Riesen Ludwisburg) are all made from Eco Fabric, a polyester material produced using 100% recycled plastic. This green choice is shared by both club and technical sponsor, and sends a clear message of sustainability and respect for the environment.

THE A1 ETHNIKI 23-24 GAME SET

AEK BC’s new ‘Home’ shirts for A1 Ethniki, the premier Greek championship, feature broad vertical bands of yellow and black down the front, with the black bands at the sides and centre. The V neck and arm holes are trimmed in yellow with a fine black line. The yellow bands contain tone on tone graphics featuring the two-headed eagle. The inside neck label is customised with the club’s colours and its centenary logo, along with the Macron logo and the words ‘Designed in Bologna’, certifying that the garment is conceived and produced at Macron’s Bologna headquarters. The back of the shirt is in yellow apart from a broad black band across the shoulders containing the name of the player and, higher up behind the neck, the Greek flag. The logo of AEK BC and the Macron Hero appear in black on the right of the chest, one above the other. The shorts are in yellow with black bands down the sides.

The ‘Away’ shirt features the same design as the ‘Home’ version but with the colours reversed. This time, it is the yellow bands that run down the sides and centre. The two black bands contain the tone on tone graphics of the two-headed eagle. The V neck and armholes are trimmed in black with a fine yellow line. The back of the shirt is black with a yellow band across the shoulders and the Greek flag above it. The club’s logo and the Macron Hero are reproduced in black on the right of the chest. The shorts are black with yellow bands down the sides.

THE BASKETBALL CHAMPIONS LEAGUE GAME SET

As for the game set that AEK BC will be wearing for the Basketball Champions League, the new ‘Home’ shirt is in yellow with a V neck, armholes and details in black. The characteristic graphics of this shirt are in black with brush-effect colour on the front and back of the shoulders and on the sides. The inside neck label is customised with the club’s colours and centenary logo, the Macron logo and the words‘Designed in Bologna’. Both logos – that of AEK BC and Macron – are reproduced in black on the right of the chest. The acronym AEK (Athlītikī Enōsis Kōnstantinoupoleōs) dominates the centre of the shirt. The shorts are yellow with the black graphics on the sides and at the bottom of the back. The ‘Away’ shirt is in black with yellow on the shoulders and in the vertical bands that run down the sides. The AEK BC logo and Macron Hero on the right of the chest are also in yellow, as is the acronym AEK. The shorts are black with yellow graphics on the sides and at the bottom of the back.

All the new match shirts are regular fit garments and are made mainly from Eco Micromesh with Eco Mesh inserts for lightness and perfect breathability. AEK BC’s new kits for the A1 Ethniki can be purchased from the section of the macron.com website dedicated to the club.
