Tradition, sustainability, and a feature of Ewood Park on Blackburn Rovers’ new Home shirt
In preparation for another season in the EFL Championship, the historic English football club Blackburn Rovers has revealed the new ‘Home’ shirt the players will wear for matches at Ewood Park, the Rovers’ home since 1890.
The shirt combines a traditional, iconic design with a message of sustainability and respect for the environment. The new kit is designed by Macron, the club’s technical partner since 2021, and made from Eco Fabric, a polyester material obtained entirely from recycled plastic. (13 half-litre bottles are used to produce every shirt.)
The new ‘Home’ shirt for the 2023-2024 season has a white polo neck with blue details and features the club’s traditional half white (right) and half blue (left) design, with sleeves in the opposite colour. The custom label inside the neck has a blue background and is decorated with the club’s badge, the Macron logo and the words ‘Designed in Bologna’ as proof that every garment is conceived, designed and made in the capital city of Emilia.
The words ‘ROVERS F.C.’ are printed in blue behind the neck in the same font that appears outside the stadium near the statue of Jack Walker (the club’s Owner when the team won the Premier League in 1994/1995). The words ‘ROVERS F.C.’ are also dye-sub printed in tone on tone in the left half of the shirt and on the right sleeve. The Macron Hero logo is embroidered in blue on the right of the chest while the badge of Blackburn Rovers appears over the heart. The ‘Home’ kit is completed by white shorts with a blue drawstring and blue socks with a white band and thin blue line around the top.
The Slim Fit shirt is made mainly from Eco Softlock fabric. It has a back panel in Eco Micromesh and inserts in Eco Mesh for lightness and excellent breathability. Like all Blackburn Rovers match kits, the new ‘Home’ shirt is available from the section of the macron.com website dedicated to the club.
