Black, anthracite grey, red and shaded graphics for the new shirt of the German National Rugby Team

On the eve of the departure of the German team to the first match of the Rugby Europe Championship 2023, the German national rugby team unveiled the new jerseys that will be worn throughout the new pro season. The occasion in question is the match against Georgia, another national team whose shirts sport the Macron Hero, a fixture scheduled for Sunday 5 February at the Avchala Stadium in Tbilisi.

The new ‘Home’ shirt of the German XV is a mix of black and anthracite grey. The black background is enhanced on the front by dye-sub horizontal stripes in anthracite grey which in turn feature red and gold details, a colour combination echoed on the edge of sleeves. The shirt has a V neck and the inside backneck is customised with the colours of the German flag and the logo of Deutscher Rugby-Verband, the Federation of which Macron has been technical partner since 2018, kitting out all the men’s and women’s national teams. The Macron Hero is embroidered in gold on the right breast, with the crest of the national team on the left. The German flag is embroidered on the back of the collar and the bottom of the shirt is embossed in grey with the phrase WIR LIEBEN RUGBY! (We love rugby!). The home kit is completed by black shorts and black socks with two red and gold stripes at the top.

The ‘Away’ version is red with a black crew neck. It features the same graphic design as the Home jersey, with horizontal stripes, in this case tone-on-tone and with shaded graphics at the sides. The sleeves are edged with three stripes in black, red and gold, picking up on the colours of the German flag, which also appear at the bottom of the shirt. On the sides, a gold vertical stripe changes to black on the undersleeve. The Macron Hero is embroidered in black on the chest, together with the logo of the national side. The backneck is customised in the same way as the home shirt and on the back, on the inside collar and at the bottom, respectively, are the German flag and the phrase WIR LIEBEN RUGBY!. Both the shorts and socks are red, the latter embellished with three horizontal stripes in black, red and gold.

The new match kits of the German national rugby team have a Muscle Fit and the fabrics specifically used are Armevo with panels in Boditex, materials which as well as being lightweight and breathable, are also extremely hard-wearing.
