READING FC PAY TRIBUTE TO FULL MEMBERS’ CUP TRIUMPH WITH NEW AWAY JERSEYS
Having already unveiled their Home jersey ahead of their 150th anniversary season, Reading FC and Macron, the Hero company, have now presented the Away jerseys that the English club will wear over the course of the coming campaign.
For this season's Away jersey, Macron and Reading have decided to pay tribute to the team that won the Full Members’ Cup in the 1987/88 campaign. Launched in 1985 and running until 1992, the tournament was a response to the exclusion of English teams from European tournaments. An iconic yellow jersey in which Reading FC lifted the cup and the images of that historic day at 'old' Wembley are still vivid in the memories of Royals fans. It's a unique shirt and a tribute to the greats of 1988.
The Away jerseys are ochre-yellow in colour, with a V-neck collar featuring trim in white, black and ochre-yellow. Two vertical blue stripes are positioned at the sleeves, while the shoulders are home to a horizontal stripe in black. The back of neck is customised with a label featuring a blue band with gold trim and the special edition logo marking the club's 150th anniversary, along with the wording 1871 – 2021 150 YEARS, which is embroidered in gold. This wording also appears on the rear of the shirts, at the top.
Like the Home kit, the slim-fit Away jerseys ensure optimum lightness and breathability through the use of Softlock material and the incorporation of inserts in micromesh.
