Macron to become the new Official Match Balls partner of the Swiss Football League
Starting from the 2024-2025 season, Macron will be supplying the official balls for the competitions run by the Swiss Football League, the organisation that controls and manages professional football in Switzerland. The agreement, which remains in force for the next 5 seasons, covers the country’s top-tier ‘Credit Suisse Super League’ and second-tier ‘dieci Challenge League’.
The official ball will be entirely designed in the Macron’s Bologna headquarters, and will feature a cutting-edge structure and a completely customised graphics, exclusively designed in close collaboration with the Swiss Football League.
The new agreement confirms the close ties between Macron and Swiss football. The Macron Hero already appears on the shirts of FC Basel 1893 and Yverdon Sport FC, two clubs that play in the ‘Credit Suisse Super League’, and on those of FC Thun, FC Sion and FC Baden 1897 in the ‘dieci Challenge League’. Thanks to this agreement, starting next season, the Macron logo will also appear on the official Swiss Football League balls, the true protagonists of every match of these competitions alongside the players and referees.
“We are delighted to announce this technical partnership with the Swiss Football League,” stated Gianluca Pavanello, CEO of Macron. “The Swiss championship is one of the most important in European football. We are particularly proud to supply a top-quality, high-performance product like the official ball for the two highest tier championships. It means that Macron will be playing an important role in every match and in every Swiss stadium.”
“We are incredibly happy to be working with the Macron brand from next season,” said Claudius Schäfer, CEO of the Swiss Football League. “The standardised match ball has proven itself in both our leagues as an important sporting element for equal opportunities and fairness and guarantees high quality matches. We are particularly excited about the new design, which is being created especially for Switzerland and features a first of its kind in the world. We are already looking forward to presenting the new ball to the fans!”.
