FINO Kaposvár Volleyball, winning is in its DNA

Kaposvár is a thousand-year-old town nestled in the hills of the Somogy region, south of Lake Balaton in Hungary. Among its attractions are many monuments, a welcoming landscape, a carnival where the old maid Dorothea transforms into a beautiful young woman during the festivities, and a beautiful and winning volleyball team, FINO Kaposvár Volleyball, which this year became Hungary's champion for the umpteenth time, dominating the Férfi NBI Extraliga, Hungary's top men's volleyball league. A success that takes on even greater importance because it was sought after and came as confirmation of both the vitality of the club's sporting project and the fact that if victory is in one's DNA, sooner or later it always manifests itself.

A top club palmares

The recently won trophy is added to the club's very rich trophy cabinet, which can boast 20 national titles (as well as seven runners-up) and 18 Hungarian Cups, as well as a series of successes in the youth sectors that are fundamental to the club's growth at every level.  Kaposvár Volleyball's history began in 1953 as Kaposvári Dózsa, but it was in the early 1990s that it began to rack up victories. At the end of the 91-92 season, the team won its first national title, followed by two more in a row, and from then on the name of Kaposvár became a permanent presence in the Hungarian league and cup roster. Successes that also allowed the team to take part in international competitions.

From grassroots to the top, everyone's commitment

The successes of the first team arise from planning and programming, but it also depend on a solid club structure and the investment that is made in young people. FINO Kaposvár Volleyball fields teams ranging from the Under-20s to the Under-13s. A movement that contributes to the formation of young talents who represent the future of the club. Along with this also comes a philosophy and work culture that underpins everything.
