The new 23-24 shirts of Dragons Catalans

Dragons Catalans, the French XIII from Perpignan, are the only non-British club to play in the Betfred Super League, which replaced the old Rugby Football League Championship (established way back in 1895) in 1996. Having just concluded another exciting season in the competition, the club has now presented new kits for the coming season, developed, of course, by Macron, who have been the team’s technical sponsor since last year.

The Dragons Catalans club represents the Catalan identity of the French city of Perpignan in the Eastern Pyrenees. Along with the figure of a dragon, the colours and logo of the kit reproduce the ‘blood and gold’ of the Senyera, the Catalan flag. This tradition has been maintained for the 23-24 game sets, with red and yellow predominating on the ‘Home’ shirts and appearing in key details on the ‘Away’ version. Both shirts are made from Eco Fabric, a polyester material derived entirely from recycled plastic, to convey a clear message of sustainability and respect for the environment.

The new Dragons Catalans ‘Home’ shirt features a white crew neck with red and yellow details. The shoulders, sleeves and sides are in red, while the centre of the body is in white. The red parts are decorated with a darker, brush-stroke effect, tone on tone graphic. The sleeve cuffs feature a mix of red and yellow, again in a brush-stroke motif. The same graphic also appears in a chevron in the centre of the chest, above which the court of arms of Perpignan appears on the right, a red Macron Hero in the centre and the club logo on the left.  The shorts are in white with a red waistband and side bands that repeat the yellow and red graphic of the shirt’s chest and sleeves. The socks are white with a red top containing two horizontal yellow stripes.

The ‘Away’ shirt is blue with a red crew neck that contains yellow details. The same tone on tone, brush-stroke graphic appears on this shirt too, as does the chevron on the chest. The sleeve cuffs feature the same mix of red and yellow as the ‘Home’ shirt. The court of arms of Perpignan, a yellow Macron Hero and the Dragons Catalans logo are reproduced on the chest. The blue shorts have white drawstrings and side bands that repeat the red and yellow colour combination and graphic of the shirt sleeves. The socks are in blue with a yellow cuff containing four thin, horizontal red lines.

Both shirts are Body Fit garments made mainly from Eco-Armevo but with Eco-Boditex and Eco-Strong Mesh inserts for reduced weight and superior performance, strength and breathability. The new Dragons Catalans kits can be purchased from the section of the macron.com website dedicated top the club.
