FAENZA BASKET PROJECT, SUCCESS IS BUILT FROM THE BOTTOM-UP

“…WHAT IF WE STARTED AN A1 TEAM?”

It was 2015 when three friends decided to develop a virtuous, competitive and pragmatically ambitious sports project. Among them was Mario Fermi, who helped give life to the Faenza Basket Project and who, to this day, is the club's president. With him, 20 partners and a rapidly growing number of members, from the youth sector to the first team, for both men and women. A solid and well-represented men's sector in the regional championships, and a women's sector proving to be the pride and joy of the club, with the first team having gone from the B series to the A1 series in just five years.

BORN TO GROW INTO YOUNG TALENTS

Having the term 'project' included in the company name implies an assumption of responsibility, taking a stand based on the awareness that in order to move forward, it is necessary to develop a solid and structured youth sector. Combining competitive and educational training for its athletes is viewed as the foundation for the club's success. Thus, the Faenza Basket Project began by investing in experienced and benevolent coaches willing and able to grow future first-team players. "We were born to do just that," confirms president Mario Fermi, who emphasises that it is no coincidence that the men's first team includes eight boys from the youth sector.

SIMONA BALLARDINI, SYMBOL OF FAENZA

One of the symbolic figures of the exhilarating ride that brought the Faenza Basket Project into the top division of Italian women's basketball is Simona Ballardini, a basketball player of international stature with a career of 425 appearances and 4487 points in Serie A, as well as an impressive palmares. Convinced by the Faenza Basket project since its early beginnings, she has become one of the longest-standing contributors to the project. Today, having left the parquet from a competitive point of view, she plays the fundamental role of team manager, the ideal link between team and the management, also offering her experience at a technical level. RESTARTING AND RELIABILITY

At present, the goal for Faenza Basket Project is to restart strong after two difficult years. Returning to give continuity to a project that has suffered a 'slowdown' in February 2020, without ever stopping completely. It is essential to have reliable partners at your side to restart successfully, and the relationship between Faenza Basket Project and Macron fully represents this concept. "It's an important brand both nationally and internationally. In addition to the quality of the products, they have proved extremely reliable in their production management, always able to meet even last-minute needs, something that is not to be taken for granted. We are very pleased with our relationship with the Macron Store in Forlì", concludes Mario Fermi.
