Tradition, memory, territory and a ‘green’ soul in Bradford City’s new Macron kits
Following last month's announcement of the technical partnership between Macron and Bradford City, the Italian brand and the English club, which will celebrate its 120th anniversary next year, have unveiled the new Home kits that The Bantams will wear during the upcoming season. A combination of tradition, symbols, tributes to the territory and stylistic and graphic innovation characterise the jersey. The club has also made the important and conscious choice in terms of environmental sustainability to wear jerseys made in Macron's Eco-Softlock fabric, 100% polyester made from recycled plastic and certified by the Global Recycled Standard.
The new 'Home' shirt, with a black polo collar adorned by a fine orange stripe, confirms the traditional Bradford City design with vertical bands in claret and amber. The backneck is personalised with the colours and logo of the English club, as well as a siliconised inner tape which repeatedly reads: "We are the Bantams". On the right side of the chest, in white, is the Italian brand's Macron Hero logo, while on the left, heart-side, the Bradford City crest enriched with a golden star, marking the 1911 FA Cup victory. There are also interesting graphic details on the back of the jersey, such as the acronym BCAFC (Bradford City Association Football Club) embroidered on the outer backneck and embossed on the bottom. Also printed on the outer backneck is a black ribbon in memory of the victims of the tragic Valley Parade fire of May 11th 1985. The kit is completed by black shorts with a claret drawstring and amber-claret detailing on the sides, and black socks with two fine horizontal amber and burgundy stripes on the upper edge.
The jersey has a Slim Fit, the main fabric used is Eco-Softlock and the presence of Eco-Mesh inserts make the garment particularly light and perfectly breathable.
