Torpedo Kutaisi joins the great Macron family
Macron’s links with Georgia are growing ever stronger: Torpedo Kutaisi is joining our extended family and will be wearing the Macron Hero in Erovnuli Liga games from March on. Following on agreements with the National squad and Dinamo Batumi, Macron has now signed its third partnership agreement in Georgia.
Torpedo Kutaisi was founded in 1946 and initially played as an amateur team associated with the local car factory. Since then, the ‘White and Blacks’ have accumulated a total of 4 league championships, 5 Georgian Cups and 2 Georgian Super Cups. The club enjoyed its greatest success in the late ’90s and early 2000s, winning three consecutive league championships and appearing three times in the Champions League. Torpedo Kutaisi has been among the top clubs in Georgian football ever since.
This partnership covers the supply of technical teamwear for the players and staff of Torpedo Kutaisi. Collaboration has already begun on the design of unique, exclusive and high-tech match kits that reflect the Georgian club’s history and traditions.
“We are delighted to welcome another top club from the Erovnuli Liga into the ‘Macron family’,” declares Tigran Avetisyan, Macron Country Manager for Georgia. “This agreement with Torpedo Kutaisi is further confirmation of just how receptive the Georgian market is. We look forward to translating Torpedo’s proud history and traditions into unique teamwear capable of conveying a real sense of belonging and loyalty to the club, not only to the players on the pitch but to the fans on the terraces too.”
David Dolaberidze, Torpedo Kutaisi director, also shared his appreciation stating that “I am delighted with successful accomplishment of negotiations, do hope that it will be mutually beneficial for both sides and believe that it may well be followed by multiyear partnership in future.”
