The black, light blue, tartan tradition and affiliated clubs in the new Glasgow Warriors’ Home and Alternate kit

Glasgow Warriors, looking forward to the start of the new competitive season, have unveiled the new Home and Away kits that the Scottish Club will wear in both United Rugby Championship and Heineken Champions Cup matches. Strips that highlight the tradition and colours of the Warriors, and pay homage to the many other clubs that are affiliated with the Club. Tradition and a sense of belonging, but also sensitivity to issues of sustainability and environmental protection. The new jerseys are in fact made by Macron in Eco Fabric, a 100% polyester fabric made from recycled plastic.

The new Home shirt is mainly black, with a V-neck and sleeve edging with light blue detailing. The inside neck is customised with a black and tartan label, the Glasgow Warriors logo and the Macron logo accompanied by the words “Designed in Bologna”, certifying and highlighting how each garment is designed and produced at Macron’s Bologna headquarters. Also inside the collar is a customised sweatband with the club’s motto “WHATEVER IT TAKES”. The tartan motif is the distinctive graphic feature of the new home kit. The typical Scottish woollen fabric design is featured in a sublimation print with a slightly shaded effect on the sleeves, in a combination of black, light blue and white. The Macron Hero logo in light blue appears on the right side of the chest, while the Glasgow Warriors crest is placed over the heart on the left. The black shorts have the tartan pattern on the sides, while the black socks have a blue horizontal stripe on the upper edge.

The Alternate version is light blue in the main body. The white sleeves have a light blue edging with a thin red stripe. The polo collar is light blue with red detailing. The inside neck is personalised as in the Home version, including the tape with the motto “WHATEVER IT TAKES” written in black on a light blue background. The graphic detail distinguishing the jersey is the sublimation print on the sides and on the back of the jersey, with all the names of the clubs affiliated with Glasgow Warriors, in tone on tone. The same list, again in sublimation print, also appears on the sides of the shorts, which are entirely light blue except for the white trim at the waist. The socks are white with two light blue central bands and upper edge, the latter embellished with a horizontal red stripe.

The Body Fit shirts are made mainly from Eco-Armevo with Eco-Boditex and Eco-Strong Mesh inserts for maximum strength along with lightness and perfect breathability.
