Macron’s new Home Kit for the Ospreys features the feathers of the raptor

The Ospreys have presented the new Home kit designed by Macron that players will wear in next season’s United Rugby Championship. The club’s identity inspires the innovatively styled new game set, which pays homage to Ospreys in the Community, a non-profit foundation that works with the club to promote activities in favour of the local community. The partnership has led to a series of programmes in specific areas like sport and exercise, health and wellbeing, education and employment.

The Ospreys’ new Home shirt for the 2024-25 season is black with purple details on the crew neck and sleeve cuffs. The shirt is decorated by refined dye-sub graphics featuring an all-over, tone-on-tone motif of osprey feathers in homage to the raptor after which the club is named. The feather pattern creates a sense of movement in conjunction with broken, diagonal lines in purple of varying intensity. The Macron Hero is embroidered in white on the right of the chest. The Ospreys’ badge appears on the left.

The custom inside label has a background replicating the shirt's graphics and is marked with the club's logo and the word ‘OSPREYS’. Also, on the label are the Macron logo and the words ‘Designed in Bologna’, certifying that the garment is conceived, designed and developed at the Macron Campus. The club’s badge and the acronym OITC (OSPREYS IN THE COMMUNITY) are printed in white at the back of the neck, emphasising the club’s close ties with the community it represents. Another distinctive detail is the tape that runs around the inside of the shirt bottom bearing the words “THIS JERSEY IS MADE FROM 13 RECYCLED BOTTLES”, interspersed with the Ospreys’ logo. Actually, every shirt uses the equivalent of 13 half-litre bottles. All the game sets Macron designs for its partner clubs are made from Eco Fabric, a polyester material derived entirely from post-consumer recycled plastic.

The new Home kit is completed by black shorts with white drawstrings. The same graphics as the shirt are repeated on vertical bands that run down the sides and across the top at the back. The socks are black with thin vertical grey lines at the top and the ankles and two thin purple lines in the middle. The Macron Hero appears just above ankle height at the front, and the club's logo at the same height at the back.

The Slim Fit shirts are made mainly from Eco Armevo with Eco Bodytex and Eco Strong Mesh inserts for greater strength and performance, reduced weight, and improved breathability. The new Home kit, along with all other items in the clothing line dedicated to supporters of the Ospreys, can be purchased from the Swansea.com Stadium store, the Ospreys store in the Quadrant shopping centre, the Macron Sports Hub on Carmarthen Road in Cwmbwrla, Swansea, and, of course from the section of the macron.com website dedicated to the club.
