Macron new technical partner of Daejeon Hana Citizen FC
Macron expands its presence in the Asian market with a new technical partnership with Daejeon Hana Citizen FC, the team from Daejeon, South Korea.
Founded in 1997, Daejeon Citizen was South Korea's only 'community club', reflecting a spontaneous and genuine passion for football. After winning the Korean FA Cup just four years later, the Citizens have not achieved sustained success in the K League, eventually relegating to K-League 2 in 2013.
Since 2019, the Hana Financial Group has taken over the club, and ambitious sporting plans include the team's rise back up the South Korean top division and a competitive future. The club will face this challenge with the Macron Hero on the chest and all the technicality, design and performance that Macron garments guarantee. Furthermore, Daejeon Hana Citizen will wear uniforms in Eco Fabric, 100% polyester made from recycled plastic and certified by the Global Recycled Standard. A first victory for the environment to celebrate together.
Justin H. Kim, Macron Korea, said, "Macron's high technology and design have already been verified and trusted by famous professional sports teams around the world. Through this sponsorship, we will support Daejeon Hana Citizen FC to achieve the best performance in the K-League 2, and we will also conduct various promotions for the fans."
Daejeon chairman Huh Jeong-moo said, "I am delighted to have signed a contract with Macron, a prestigious European brand. We will do our best so that our players can wear high-quality Macron products and be promoted to K-League 1 next season."
