Macron and FC Basel unveil an innovative ‘flaming’ Home kit for the 2024/25 season

Innovation, refined graphics and originality are the key characteristics of the new kits developed by Macron for FC Basel. The top club in Swiss football is currently presenting the new game sets that the “Rotblau” (Red & Blues) will wear in the coming season. Following its presentation of the Away kit, the club has now revealed a new Home kit that keeps the team’s traditional colours but features decidedly original graphics. Like all the garments that Macron produces for its partner clubs, FC Basel’s new Home kit is made in Eco Fabric, a polyester material derived entirely from recycled plastic, confirming the commitment to sustainability and the environment shared by the Italian brand and the Swiss club.

FC Basel’s Home shirt for 2024/25 has a black, knitted polo neck with two thin red lines. The same colours reappear on the sleeve cuffs. The theme of the graphics is identical to that used on the Away shirt and features flames that extend from the top and bottom towards of the centre of the shirt and also appear on the shoulders. The background is blue while the flames are in red edged in gold – the traditional colours of FC Basel’s Home shirts. The inspiration for this graphic motif, which is even more apparent on the Away shirts, comes from traditional elements of Basel culture, starting with the city’s ancient standards, which had wavy black lines on a white background pointing towards a Baslerstab (bishop’s crosier) in the centre. The Macron Hero and the badge of FC Basel are both silicone printed on the chest.

The custom inside neck label has a black background and the words ‘FC BASEL 1893’ below the image of a basilisk and of the ball which also appears on the club’s badge. Also on the label are the Macron logo and the words ‘Designed in Bologna’, certifying that the garment is conceived, designed and developed at the Macron Campus. A tape runs around the inside of the bottom hem, repeating the phrase ‘BRENNE FÜR DEN FCB’ (Burning for FCB). A football, taken from the club’s badge, is embroidered in yellow behind the neck.

The graphics of the shirt are repeated in red on the sides of the blue shorts. The socks are in blue with a black top with two thin red stripes and a band of red around the calf bearing the letters FCB at the front and the date the club was formed – 1893 – at the back.

The Slim Fit shirt is made mainly from Eco Light Serena with an Eco Micromesh panel in the back for improved lightness and breathability. The new ‘Home’ kit, along with all the other garments developed by Macron for FC Basel 1893, can be purchased from the section of the macron.com website dedicated to the Swiss club.
