Dragon scales and a tribute to the Gresford Colliery miners in the new Wrexham AFC Home kit by Macron

Two promotions in two years. The third oldest club in the world. A stadium, the STōK Cae Ras - STōK Racecourse, opened hundreds of years ago as a hippodrome and today can be considered the oldest international football stadium in use. A docu-series that is a hit with the audience. This is Wrexham. The Welsh club, owned by well-known actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, is preparing for next season in EFL League One, from which it has been missing since 2005. Ahead of taking the field on 10 August against Wycombe Wanderers, the Red Dragons unveiled their new 2024/25 Home Kit. Made by Macron, the Welsh club’s technical partner since 2016, the new kit features the dragon, the team’s symbol, as its graphic leitmotif.

Wrexham AFC’s new 2024-25 Home jersey is red and features an elegant polo collar with a vintage feel, coloured in white, as are the sleeve cuffs. The detail that characterises this jersey is the embossed graphic on the front and sleeves, which reproduces the design of the scales and some particular elements of the dragon with a very striking effect. Equally intense is the graphic reference on the external back neck, with the design of the Gresford Colliery memorial and the number 266, in reference to the tragic disaster of 22 September 1934 in the coal mine in which 266 miners lost their lives.

The inside backneck is customised with a red background label with a white-green-gold diagonal band in the centre, the club logo, the Macron logo and the words ‘Designed in Bologna’, certifying and highlighting how each garment is conceived, designed and developed at the Macron Campus. On the right chest, in silicon print and in white, is the Macron Hero, with the Wrexham AFC crest on the heart side.

The Home kit is completed by the double option of shorts, either white with red thigh trims or red with white thigh trims, with white socks with a red top hem.

The kit is made of Eco Fabric, a 100% polyester fabric from post-consumer plastic recycling, which Macron uses for all its partner clubs. The main fabric is Eco Softlock. The Eco Micromesh back panel and Eco Mesh inserts ensure the garment is lightweight and perfectly breathable.
