Cadiz CF’s new Home shirt pays homage to the ’80s

Cadiz CF unveiled their new Home shirt for the 2023-24 season. The new kit is inspired by those worn by the Andalusian club in the late 1980s, when fans were delighted with Jorge Alberto González Barillas, known as ‘Mágico González’, an imaginative Salvadorean player whose skills and talent were recognised even by Diego Armando Maradona. In fact, the whole team from that period earned a place in the hearts of Cadiz CF’s fan base and that love is now being evoked by the design and details of the club’s new ‘Home’ shirt.  

Cadiz CF’s new Home kit is made from Eco Fabric, highlighting the club’s and technical sponsor’s commitment to protecting the environment and promoting sustainability. The shirt is predominantly in the club’s traditional yellow, with a knitted blue crew neck and sleeve cuffs embellished by a thin gold stripe. The shoulders feature two white stripes, a design taken from the kits worn in the late ’80s, but in this case produced by a dye-sub print with gold edges. The stripes end in a triangle shaped like the Macron Hero. The same motif is repeated three times in blue on the sides of the shirt.

The front and back of the shirt are decorated with a tone on tone embossed geometric pattern that creates a slight 3D effect. The label inside the neck features a background with the same colours and graphic motifs as the shirt, along with the club’s badge, the Macron logo, and the words ‘Designed in Bologna’ certifying that the garment is conceived, designed and produced at Macron’s Bologna HQ. The Macron Hero appears alongside the badge of Cadiz CF on the chest.

The kit is completed by shorts in two variants: blue with a yellow drawstring and white stripes at the side or all yellow. Three blue Macron Heroes appear on both variants, repeating the pattern seen on the shoulders of the shirt. The socks, likewise, come in two variants: blue with a yellow band around the top or yellow with a blue band.

The new ‘Home’ shirt is a Slim Fit garment. It is made from Eco Softlock with Eco Mesh inserts for less weight and improved breathability.
