All Black: 96 presents a limited-edition special jersey
High up on the fan’s wish lists
Black, white, and green – these were already the colours of Hannover 96 when it was founded almost 127 years ago. And to this day, they still are. This year’s special jersey is a declaration of love for one of these colours; while including the Macron Hero, the logos of Hannover 96, the main sponsor Brainhouse 247, sleeve sponsor Travnik, and the Bundesliga, it is almost completely black.
“On the one hand, it is obviously important for us to transport the club’s DNA, but on the other hand, it is also important to take into account the input of our fans”, says Pascal Helle, Head of Merchandising and Licensing. “We spoke to a lot of people around the club and it became clear that an all-black design was high on their wish list. That is why we are very pleased to be able to now present such a unique jersey. We thank our partners are Brainhouse 247, Macron, and Travnik, for supporting this idea with their logos.”
The special jersey is strictly limited to 1’896 pieces, and numbered in the neck label from 1 to 1’896. Therefore, each piece is unique. There will be no reordering. In league play, the special jersey will only be in use for a single match: when FC Hansa Rostock plays at the Heinz von Heiden Arena on the 12th of March, head coach Stefan Leitl’s team will be wearing all black.
Top scorer Cedric Teuchert has already worn the jersey, along with his fellow striker, Nicolo Tresoldi, when the commercial for the jersey was filmed. “I am a big fan of the all-black look”, says Teuchert. “It is an extremely chic and successful jersey. I’m looking forward to playing in it.”
