Macron Campus, a project for growth, quality and sustainability

Macron invests in quality as a strategy for growth. Announcing Macron Campus. This new project will see the construction of two new buildings in an area alongside Macron’s current headquarters.

Macron’s development is closely linked to that of its headquarters, which already stands out for its ample green areas, clear commitment to environmental sustainability and spaces dedicated to the wellbeing or employees and visitors.

The new Campus will be a multifunctional complex with spaces set aside for offices and showrooms, playing areas for material testing, production facilities and new areas for storage and shipping of finished products. Total area of the complex will rise from 55,000 to around 100,000 square metres, including 20,000 m2 dedicated to BREEAM certified green areas. The expanded hub will be dedicated to improving functionality, efficiency, employee wellbeing and development.

Macron has come a long way since it was formed back in 1971. Over the last two decades, turnover has grown from less than €10 million to an estimated €200 million in 2023. This impressive growth has been driven by innovation, major investments in technology and human resources, product quality and true passion. Growth in turnover has also led to a significant expansion in personnel and to the development of close ties with the local area and the social fabric of Bologna. Some 180 people are directly employed at the Valsamoggia site, with another 50 indirectly employed. Key functions like product development, design, marketing, sales, finance, technology and ICT, which demand highly qualified profiles, are all located at Macron’s Valsamoggia headquarters. Over the years, this has led to close collaboration with various faculties of Bologna University.

The presence of a company like Macron offers unquestionable advantages for the surrounding area: job creation (both direct employment and opportunities in services, transport, catering, etc.); business development (contributing to the local economy through investments and synergies with regional suppliers); talent attraction (drawing in qualified profiles, helping to develop local competences and creating professional networks); research and innovation (concentrating research, design, development and engineering activities at company headquarters and encouraging product innovation); image and prestige (improving the image and prestige of the area when, as is the case with Macron, turnover comes largely from exports and all products bear the words “Designed in Bologna”); sustainability and social responsibility (contributing to the wellbeing and prosperity of the region through environmental and social initiatives in favour of the community).

The presence of the company’s headquarters not only generates employment, economic prosperity and prestige for the local area but also has a long-term influence on its culture, innovation and quality of life. Macron is fully are of this impact and invests continuously in initiatives in favour of the local community and environment. Macron has chosen Valsamoggia as its home for over 30 years. The company has grown – and plans to continue growing – here.

We are looking forward to this new project with enthusiasm. Macron Campus represents an important new step in the growth of our company,” declared Gianluca Pavanello, CEO of Macron. “We are looking to the future and determined to become more competitive in quality and sustainability. In addition to representing our brand and our activities more effectively, Macron Campus will also ensure the wellbeing of our people, who are our company’s most important resource, and will add further value to the area in which we have our roots.
