Symbols of Frisian identity on SC Heerenveen’s new Home shirts
SC Heerenveen, the Dutch club that plays in the Eredivisie, the Netherlands’ top division, has just presented the new Home kits for the upcoming season. The new shirts are characterised by graphic motifs of water lily petals, a powerful symbol of the Frisian region that the club represents. In addition to innovative graphics, the new shirts by Macron also deliver a clear message of sustainability, being made from Eco Fabric, a polyester material derived entirely from recycled plastic.
The new ‘Home’ shirt has a crew neck and features the club’s traditional blue and white vertical stripes. The white stripes are decorated with red, dye-sub printed petals of the ‘pompeblêd’, as the yellow water lily is known in the Frisian language. The symbol appears both on the Frisian flag and in the badge of SC Heerenveen.
The custom inside neck label features the colours and badge of the club, the Macron Hero logo and the words ‘Designed in Bologna’, certifying that the garment is conceived, designed, and produced at Macron's Bologna Headquarters. A red lily petal is printed on the back of the shirt behind the neck. The Macron Hero logo is silicone printed on the right of the chest and the SC Heerenveen badge on the left. A bottom hem tape runs around the inside of the shirt bearing the words “Lit jim gean, Friezen” (Let yourselves go, Frisians).
The shorts are white and the socks come in two variants: black with a blue top band containing two white stripes or white with a blue top band and white stripe.
The Slim Fit shirts are made mainly from Eco Softlock with an Eco Micromesh back panel and Eco Mesh inserts for lightness and excellent breathability.
