Past and future blend in the new Udinese Calcio Home shirt

Graphics and a logo that recall past glories, a homage to one of the city’s best-known symbols, and the latest textile technology in the form of Eco Fabric to confirm Macron and Udinese Calcio’s shared commitment to protecting the environment. These are the ‘ingredients’ of the new ‘Home’ shirt presented by Udinese Calcio in the run-up to the coming season in Serie A. A mix of past, present and future, that starts from the historical Zebretta logo and arrives at the challenges that see the club engaged on the front of innovation and sustainability that project it into the future.

The club’s new ‘Home’ shirt features a crew neck and two black and green stripes on the neck trim, the sleeve cuffs and around the club badge. The shirt is white with a broad black band in the middle, mimicking the colours worn by Zico and his team-mates in the late ‘70s and early ‘80s. To the same period belongs also the Udinese Calcio badge used for this kit, representing a zebra looking forward within a green frame. A look forward that symbolises projection to the future and which differentiate it from the badge used in the early 1970s, when the zebra looked at its side. The Udinese Calcio “Zebretta” badge appears on the right, in silicone, while the Macron Hero logo is on the right, again in silicone and in the same dark green of the kit’s details. The shoulders and part of the sleeves are also in black. ‘UC 1896’ is printed tone on tone on the right sleeve.

The inside label is customised with the colours and badge of the club and the words “I PRIMI BIANCONERI D’ITALIA” (the first ‘Black and Whites’ in Italy) along with the Macron logo and the words Designed in Bologna, certifying that the garment is conceived, designed and produced at Macron’s Bologna HQ. The club’s motto, ‘La Passione è la nostra Forza’ (passion is our strength) is embroidered on the back, under the neck. Also, on the back of the shirt is a symbol the people of Udine are particularly attached to. At the bottom of the black band is a tone on tone dye-sub image of the Archangel Gabriel, known in Udine as ‘Angelo del Castello’, with reference to a statue on the bell tower of the church of Santa Maria di Castello, where the shirt were unveiled.

The new ‘Home’ kit is completed by shorts that can be either white with black bands down the sides or black with white bands. The socks too come in two variants: white with horizontal black and green stripes or black with white and green stripes. The Slim Fit shirts are made mainly from Eco-Piola with Eco Mesh inserts for light weight and excellent breathability.

Udinese Calcio’s new ‘Home’ shirt can be purchased from the Macron Sports Hub at Udinese Arena or online from the area of the macron.com website dedicated to Udinese Calcio, where you can find the complete range of Macron teamwear for the club.
