OMAR BORTOLACELLI HAS WON HIS CHALLENGE
At the end of the 500 meters of the 'San Luca walk', the look of Omar Bortolacelli was enough to explain the excitement and joy of those who contributed to the "IRONWALK" project.
The 37 years-old Italian, who has been in a wheelchair for ten years due to an accident, today managed to complete the path of a symbolic walk to the Sanctuary of San Luca, in Bologna.
Macron is delighted and proud to have been at the side of Omar, who proved to be a true Macron Hero through his willpower, passion and desire to overcome his limits to reach the goal.
The 'IRONWALK' project required a month of intense preparation, during which Omar trained and got familiar with the exoskeleton that allowed him to win the challenge of covering the last part of the San Luca walk.
The project represents a message promoting the value of sport to the physical and mental health of individuals.
Sport accessible to everyone in all its forms. The "IRONWALK" project and Omar's personal story can also be important talking points about road safety and responsible behaviour.
The event also aims to raise funds for non-profit associations through crowdfunding activity, which started over a month ago and will continue until July 15, allowing to provide concrete and economic support to 4 associations that work to raise awareness of social issues and prevention among adults and children.
Macron believes in passion, sustainability, accessibility, social responsibility and has found it natural to marry a sporting and human challenge like Omar Bortolacelli's. A challenge that shown how the strength of will and hard work can overcome any goal, even if it may seem impossible. Those who love sport today have experienced an unforgettable moment thanks to Omar.
"The pride of being a partner of the "IRONWALK Project" increased tenfold when Omar reached his goal - said Gianluca Pavanello, CEO of Macron - moments like these that give a sense of what it means commitment, passion, willpower, the spirit of sacrifice. The inner strength and positivity of Omar have involved us immediately. In Macron, in the Hall of Dreams, there is an inscription: 'A hero is a dreamer who never gives up. Omar dreamed, he didn't give up and won".
