Macron’s new Away kit for Bologna FC 1909: a homage to the Centenary of the club’s first championship win

Bologna FC 1909 has just presented the new Away kit that players will wear for the 2024-2025 season. White is the dominant colour on this ‘Away’ shirt which, while incorporating stylish, refined and innovative graphics, is inspired by the history of the club and specifically by the shirts worn in the 1920s. This is because precisely one hundred years ago, in the 1924-25 season, Bologna won its first championship wearing a white shirt with a central band in addition to the usual red and blue and green variants. The new kit is made entirely from Eco Fabric, a material derived entirely from recycled plastic.

Bologna FC 1909’s new ‘Away’ shirt for 2024-2025 is white with a blue crew neck and sleeve cuffs. In the centre of the front is a broad horizontal band of red and blue characterised by a pattern of wavy lines inside. The material chosen for this second game shirt is Eco Exalock, a jacquard fabric with a fine all-over weave that makes it far more attractive than traditional sportswear fabrics. Inside the neck is a label in the colours of the club, bearing the dates 1925-2025 in gold and, in the middle, an image of the championship cup and the figure 100. The label is also marked with the Macron logo and the words ‘Designed in Bologna’, certifying that the garment is conceived, designed and developed at Macron's Valsamoggia Campus.

The Macron Hero appears in blue on the right of the chest and a silicone patch with the logo of Bologna FC 1909 appears on the left. The club’s motto, “WEAREONE” is printed in blue behind the neck. Running around the bottom of the shirt on the inside is an elastic tape customised with the dates 1925 and 2025 in red, repeated and interspersed with figures of the cup. Another reminder of the club’s first championship is to be seen at the bottom of the shirt where a white tone on tone application again bears the two dates 1925 and 2025. The ‘Away’ kit is completed by blue shorts with red stripes on the sides and on the leg bottoms at the back.
