Macron's new Home Kit for Blackburn Rovers FC is inspired by the club's fantastic 1994-95 season
Blackburn Rovers FC has just presented a new Home kit for the club’s 2024/25 season in the EFL Championship. The new shirt pays homage to that worn by Alan Shearer and his teammates in the 1994-95 season when Rovers won the Premier League title. In that incredible season, Blackburn finished ahead of Manchester United, Nottingham Forest and Liverpool and Shearer finished as the league’s top scorer, with 34 goals in 42 games.
Blackburn Rovers FC’s new ‘Home’ shirt adopts the iconic ‘two halves’ configuration with white on the right and blue on the left. The sleeves invert these colours. The polo neck has a two-button closure and red trim. A thin red line also appears on the sleeve cuffs. The blue half, on the front and back contains tone on tone dye-sub printed graphics depicting the Lancashire rose. The rose, which also appears in the club’s logo, represents the county of Lancashire where the town of Blackburn is located. The inside label at the back of the neck partly repeats the shirt’s graphic motif and also features the club’s logo, that of Macron and the words ‘Designed in Bologna’, certifying that the garment is conceived, designed and developed at the Macron Campus.
The Macron Hero logo is embroidered in blue on the right of the chest and the badge of Blackburn Rovers FC appears on the left. A customised tape around the bottom of the shirt intersperses the Lancashire rose with the words ‘14/5/1995 Premier League Champions’, celebrating the date on which the club won the title. The same memorable date is printed in red behind the neck and again accompanied by a rose motif. The shorts are white with red drawstrings while the socks are blue with a white top band and a thin red line running around them.
The kit is made from Eco Fabric, a polyester material 100% derived from recycled post-consumer plastic that Macron uses for all the clubs it sponsors. The Slim Fit shirt is made mainly from Eco Checker fabric. A back panel in Eco Micromesh and Eco Mesh inserts ensure lightness and excellent breathability.
Like all Blackburn Rovers match kits, the new ‘Home’ shirt is available from the section of the macron.com website dedicated to the club.
