ELEGANT DESIGNS AND GREEN PRINCIPLES UNDERPINNING THE NEW LOU RUGBY LYON KITS

Historic French rugby club Lou Rugby Lyon, who are currently competing in France’s Top 14 championship, have teamed up with technical sponsor Macron to unveil their new match kits for the upcoming season.

Like virtually all Macron jerseys, the Lou Rugby Lyon kits will not only encapsulate the colours and history of their team – but they’ll also send out a strong message about sustainability and environmental awareness. A green concept runs through the new kits, thanks largely to the Italian brand's decision to manufacture them using Eco-Armevo, a 100% polyester material made from recycled plastic and certified according to the Global Recycled Standard.

The new Home kit is black with red trim around the crewneck collar and at the sleeves. The entire jersey features a repeated tone-on-tone design depicting the wolf from the Lou Rugby badge and the classic fleur-de-lys, one of France’s most symbolic images and a component of the city crest. This design also appears at the back of the neck, with the Lou Rugby crest at the centre. The Macron Hero logo and the club crest are positioned centrally, one on top of the other, on the breast, while the words LOU RUGBY appear on the back of the shirt at the top.

The Away version – which also features a crewneck design – is red with part of the breast in black. Underneath this sit two diagonal black stripes forming the point of an arrow. The front of the jerseys and the sleeves are adorned with a graphic depicting the map of part of the city of Lyon, specifically the neighbourhood of Gerland, which is home to Lou Rugby iconic stadium. The Macron Hero and the club crest are positioned in the centre of the chest.

Last but certainly not least, the ice grey Third kit features a crewneck collar with black trim around the neck and sleeves. The distinguishing feature of the kit is the tone-on-tone design depicting a stylised wolf’s head, the symbol of the French club, which occupies the whole of the central front section. The logos are positioned in the centre of the breast, while the words LOU RUGBY appear on the back of the jerseys, underneath the collar, in black.
