Cardiff Rugby’s new kits for 23-24 come in Blue, Black and Pink

Cardiff Rugby, the historic Welsh XV, is gearing up for a new season in the United Rugby Championship (first match against Benetton on the 21^st October) and in the Heineken Champions Cup (starting with an away match against Stade Toulousain). The club will be facing these new challenges with its usual competitive spirit but with brand-new match kits. The ‘Home’ version of these maintains the traditional combination of blue and black while the ‘Alternate’ kit introduces a striking pink alongside the usual black. The kits also deliver a clear message of sustainability and respect for the environment, thanks to the use by Macron, Cardiff Rugby’s technical partner, of Eco Fabric, a polyester material made from 100% recycled plastic.

Cardiff Rugby’s new ‘Home’ shirts are divided into two halves on the front and back, with the right side in light blue and the left in black. These colours are reversed on the sleeves and shoulders. The crew neck is trimmed in black. The custom inside neck label comes in the colours of the club and bears the club’s logo alongside that of Macron and the words ‘Designed in Bologna’, certifying that the garment is conceived, designed and developed at Macron's Bologna headquarters. A sweatband runs around the inside of the neck, and is customised with the team’s motto in Welsh and English: Nerth Trwy Undod – Strength Through Unity.  The Macron Hero appears in white on the right of the chest and the logo of Cardiff Rugby on the left. The year of foundation of the club, 1876, is printed in white on the back of the shirt just under the neck. The shorts are black with white drawstrings and the socks, also in black, have a light blue top and a thin white line underneath.

The ‘Alternate’ shirt replicates the design of the ‘Home’, but features pink instead of light blue for the right half. The left remains black. The colours are reversed on the sleeves and shoulders of this shirt too. The crew neck is trimmed in black with white details. The inside label and the sweatband are both customised in exactly the same way as those of the ‘Home’ shirt, and the club’s year of foundation, 1876, is again printed in white on the back, under the neck. The Macron Hero and the badge of Cardiff Rugby are reproduced in white on the right and left of the chest respectively. This kit offers a choice of shorts in black or pink, both with white drawstrings. The socks are black with a pink top and a white line beneath.

The Body Fit shirts are made from Eco Armevo with Eco Bodytex and Eco Strong Mesh inserts for maximum strength as well as lightness and breathability.
