Aalborg bk’s new ‘Home’ and ‘Away’ kits by Macron pay homage to the Danish club’s historical roots

The story of Aalborg BK began way back in time, on 13 May 1885, when the club was founded as a cricket club. Next year, the club celebrates 140 years of unbroken history. The club has decided to celebrate and pay homage to this heritage on the new ‘Home’ and ‘Away’ kits that ‘De røde’ will wear next season. The kits feature elegant details and also deliver a clear message of respect for the environment, being made from Eco Fabric, a polyester material derived entirely from recycled, post-consumer plastic.

The new ‘Home’ shirt has a knitted polo neck with red and white details and sleeve cuffs finished in the same way. The shirt has Aalborg’s traditional red and white vertical stripes with a special graphic motif on the red stripes: two crossed cricket bats and the club’s logo, repeated in tone on tone all over the garment. The inside neck label is customised in two shades of red. In the top half the words 140 år (140 years) appear in gold along with the two dates 1885 and 2025, with the crossed cricket bats motif between them. In the bottom half, alongside the logo of the Danish club is the Macron logo and the wording ‘Designed in Bologna’ certifying that the garment is conceived, designed and developed at the Macron Campus. The Macron Hero is embroidered in black on the chest, alongside the logo of the club. ‘1885’, the year the club was formed, is printed in black behind the neck. The shorts are in white with red bands down the sides while the socks are all in red.

The ‘Away’ shirt is particularly elegant in its details and has a V neck and sleeve cuffs with red and white stripes inspired by the ribbed design of the hats worn on the field by cricket players. The shirt itself is in navy blue with tone on tone vertical stripes inside which the cricket bat motif is repeated. The overall concept of the shirt is inspired by the relief motif seen on shirts of cricket players. The Macron Hero is printed in red silicone on the right of the chest while the Aalborg BK logo appears on the left. The date 1885 again appears in red behind the neck. The shorts are in navy blue, as are the socks, the top cuffs of which are finished in the same red and white stripes as the shirt neck and sleeves.

Both shirts are Slim Fit garments made mainly from Eco Softlock with an Eco Micromesh panel in the back and Eco Mesh inserts for less weight and improved breathability. Aalborg BK’s new ‘Home’ and ‘Away’ kits can be purchased from the section of the macron.com website dedicated to the club.
