NAVY BLUE AND BURNT ORANGE, THE LEITMOTIF OF THE NEW EDINBURGH RUGBY SHIRTS

Edinburgh Rugby, the historic Scottish rugby club, which next year celebrates its 150th anniversary, and Macron, the Hero company and technical sponsor of the Scottish capital side, have presented the new “Home” and “Away” jerseys which the squad will wear throughout the forthcoming pro season. This year once again, the Italian brand and the staff of Edinburgh Rugby worked together to develop a new collection that highlights the colours, symbols and traditions of the club.

The new Home jersey is navy blue with a mandarin collar trimmed in burnt orange, a colour also featured on the edges of the sleeves. The backneck is customised with the team colours and crest. The Italian teamwear brand’s Macron Hero logo appears in white on the right breast, with the Edinburgh Rugby crest on the left. The Scottish club's new first shirt is characterised by a dye-sub print on the sides and the lower back, consisting of a geometric tone-on-tone design that depicts three turrets inspired by Edinburgh castle, drawing on the club logo. The back of the shirt is also embossed with the wording EST 1872, a reference to the year the club was founded.

The Away jersey, also featuring a mandarin collar, is in burnt orange with the collar and sleeves trimmed in navy blue. The backneck is customised like the Home version, while the Macron Hero and the Edinburgh Rugby crest are both emblazoned in white on the chest. The away version is characterised by the same graphic motif chosen for the home shirt, namely the geometric design representing turrets of Edinburgh castle, which in this case features on the front of the shirt as well as on the back at the bottom. The back of the shirt, too, is tone-on-tone embossed with the wording EST 1872.

The shirts feature a muscle fit and are produced in Armevo and Bodytex fabrics, which as well as being lightweight and breathable, are ultra hard-wearing and extremely comfortable to play in.
